DESCRIPTION
Nina, a girl living as an orphan in the Fortna Castle Town, happens to have eyes of the same deep blue hue as lapis lazuli—just like the God of the Stars. They’re also the same color as the eyes of the recently deceased Princess Alisha. For that reason, when the second prince of Fortna, Azure, discovers Nina, he ordains that she will live as the princess in Alisha’s place. As substitute princess and Priestess of the Stars, Nina is obligated to become the false bride of Sett, the first prince of the large neighboring nation of Galgada after the third month has passed. Despite being at the mercy of fate, Nina is just happy to feel needed by someone. What is it that her open, honest eyes see? The destinies of all the players on this stage begin to move when they make up their minds to protect the ones they love!

40/100Nina the Suffering BrideContinue on AniListMisoony Loves Female-Lead Fantasy Romance: Nina the Starry Bride Picture this...you've been living on the street for years, when finally you get your chance to live a luxurious life as a princess! Then...all of a sudden, you have to face your romantic options, which could be labeled as dumb and dumber but with anger issues.
I'm all for more shoujo and josei anime. They're my favorite after all, especially ones that are a fantasy romance. So I really do want to like this anime. And it's not as if I hate it or anything. I feel like I'd enjoy it if it weren't for these romantic interests. So I'll start off my review with them.
__Characters__ Nina: She's cute, I like her character design a lot. It's one of the more unique ones I've seen in shoujo/josei anime. However, her personality doesn't stand out. She's pretty much a Mary Sue who for the most part, acts like a child. Along with this, I watched the dub, and in the dub, she sounds exactly like a whiny child. She has her good moments, I don't dislike her or anything. But she's not a character I found myself really liking.
Azure: I don't dislike him, he's just boring and kind of reminds me of a turtle. He's not a prince charming or a fantastic love interest, but he's better than the other guy I'm about to go on about.
Sett: Oh my gosh. This guy ruined the anime for me. He seems to be the main love interest, and oh my god,h do I hate him. He treats Nina horribly. He literally hurts Nina. Not very romantic to me. He has the personality of an AI Angry Boyfriend, pretty terrible. Gosh, I hope Nina doesn't end up with this guy.
__Story__ The story is pretty decent. Nothing really stood out to me, but I liked it pretty well. Since this is a romance, a lot of the anime does focus on the romance, and as you can tell by now, I was not a fan of the romance. However, when the story isn't focusing on the romance and goes into the more mysterious aspects, I like it pretty well.
__Animation and Music__ The animation was pretty good. Usually, animation in shoujos and joseis isn't great, but this was pretty good! Not outstanding or anything, but good! I especially liked the moments where it zoomed in on her eyes. They were so pretty!
The music was pretty good too! I like the opening pretty well! It was in my playlist for a few months so that means something.
My Final Thoughts Definetly not the worst shoujo/josei I've watched, but not the best. I feel like this had potential but the characters kind of ruined that. I still enjoyed some of the anime, but by the end of it, it was a pretty eh sort of watch. I'd only recommend watching this if you want to watch a dubbed josei, fantasy, romance, and you're a fan of the genre.

75/100Female Protagonist Could Not Catch A BreakContinue on AniListIn all honesty, it has been a while since I watched this anime. I do remember the story, not in great detail, but the general gist of it. And that brought me a feeling: frustration.
In order for me to point out scenes that gives me a sense of frustration, please note that this review will contain spoilers.

The synopsis is that the girl, Nina, has a rare eye colour that only the princess of Fortuna kingdom possessed. As luck would have it, they also have the same hair colour. The princess met a fatal accident which prompted the second prince, Azure to seek out a replacement. Nina, who has been living in the streets, was betrayed and sold to Azure as someone who met the basic crtieria.

The frustration is the entire show itself, from the beginning to the end. It feels as though Nina's life throughout the series is destined to be one of misery, where she is constantly on the losing end. First, she got betrayed by someone she trusted the most in the streets. She was sold by her friend to Prince Azure who was seeking a replacement for a dead princess so that they would not incur the wrath of an empire.
To me, it's just cruelty because you are subjecting an innocent girl to a fate where she could easily lose her life if she were to be suspected as an imposter. And that was what happened at one point of the show.

I can't find the actual scene but it happened right after the scene in the picture above.
Anyway, as those of you who have watched the series would know, Nina decided to sacrifice herself due to her love for Azure by accepting the marriage proposal to the rumoured cold-blooded Prince Sett. It seemed as though her life began to take a turn for the better when she finally bonded with Sett, but things started to go down hill when they head to the main palace of the empire.
I did say there will be spoilers in this review but I am not going to spell out every single scene. At the end of the series, Nina was sentenced to exile at the coldest outskirt of the empire. It was as if the girl could not catch a break at all.

Now, as to why I gave this anime a scoring of 75, I have no idea. Like I said, this was watched a long time ago and I am simply following what I rated then.
But if I have to hapzard a guess, it most likely would be because of Sett's relationship with Nina. I have a soft spot for bad boys loving the female protagonist. It just gives the sense of "he would do anything for her, even if it means burning the world" type of vibe.
