DESCRIPTION
An ordinary kid by the name of Aikawa Kanami winds up in a fantasy world operated by RPG video game rules—but this isn’t good news. He awakes in the bowels of a gargantuan death trap called the Dungeon. Narrowly escaping thanks to his grit, cunning, and newfound arsenal of magic spells and skills, he wants nothing more than to get back home to Earth and the invalid sister who needs him. His only lead? It’s said that whoever makes it to the hundredth and final level can have any wish granted. In his desperation, Kanami cooks up the most efficient means of clearing the Dungeon and lies his way into a partnership of expediency with an aspiring swordfighter who’s rubbish with the blade but unbelievably skilled at magic. Kanami’s cool determination, however, is soon put to the test when he and his new comrade are faced with a surprise boss fight. How far will he go in order to emerge victorious? Find out in the first volume of this beloved, long-running series!

100/100so to summarize, Dungeon Dive is about forming connections, moving forward and accepting and loving yourselfContinue on AniListPart 1—Kanami Aikawa/Siegfried Vizzita
Kanami Aikawa is the protagonist of Dungeon Dive, a weak-willed and quick-to-give-up-and-complain type of protagonist. His main goal is to make his great return upon conquering the 100 floors, which will grant them any wish they desire. Kanami’s fear of opening up and his trying to solve things his way without consulting were what led to a big downfall later on.
and on the very cusp of his and his comrades’ heavy loss down the road, yet it also was the cornerstone to Kanami’s and his gang’s development/growth.
Kanami may make endless mistakes and may find himself regretting and losing many a precious thing ahead, yet his willpower to not give up or to mistake his "fake" life with his "real" life and his goals and wishes is what makes his trek into the dangerous world of magic and dangerous monsters that much more amazing and very awe-inspiring.
The way he changes the people around him even though they all, in a way, always make his problems worse and worse is really amazing. He’s not perfect by any means, and some of his actions especially are really frustrating; they all lead to him and his comrades, alongside others, changing. The many revelations and losses eventually change him into opening up and seeing people for what they are and not what they were forced to be as guardians, that is. He tries his best and suffers a lot along the way, yet his determination to conquer all 100 floors never wavers.
Part 2—The Dungeon/Dungeon Alliance
What is the dungeon, one might ask? It is the very destination that people head to for glory and adventure and is rumored to have 100 floors, and the one who eventually conquers them all can have their wish granted. Kanami heads there to make his great return to his sick sister waiting for him a world away, leaving him alone to fend for himself in this world teeming with magic, monsters, and so many things.
The dungeon also hosts an alliance called the Dungeon Alliance, which is basically an organization and nation that seeks to benefit from the dungeon, and they all surround the dungeon as Whoseyards, Vart, Laoravia, Eltreliew, and Greeard, and they all occupy a specific church. which is the church of Levahn, with Whoseyards being the centerpiece of it all. The church of Levahn began to spread a thousand years ago, which is coincidentally the same timeline as the dungeon. As the church worships certain gods, the very center of it would be the saint and apostle; they’re pretty peaceful at best.
Part 3—Side characters
Let’s start with Lastiara Whoseyards, the first of Kanami’s allies.
Lastiara Whoseyards is an impulsive and a bit crazy girl who, since the start, was fascinated by ancient and heroic texts featuring heroes’ adventures towards the dungeon.
Lastiara decided to follow in their footsteps and write her very own heroic story. She doesn’t mince words and always says what she wants and wants a hero to save her, which just so happens to be Kanami Aikawa.
All of their interactions are fun and entertaining.
Next up is Diablo Sith/Dia
Dia is the first of Kanami’s allies that helped him survive in the dungeon and was also the start of Kanami’s many regrets down the line as their fight against one of the guardians, Tida, the 20th floor guardian and the thief of darkness’s essence. Dia is almost childish and very trusting towards people, and as he and Kanami stick together, Dia’s innocent and trusting nature can be a bit of a detriment to Kanami’s trek into the dungeon.
Next up is Maria
Maria is the third of Kanami’s allies he meets in the slave auction.
As Kanami meets Maria, he is quickly reminded of his sick sister, who shares quite the resemblance in looks. Distraught, Kanami decided to buy her, and thus their life as master and servant started, which is another of many of Kanami’s heavy regrets later down the line as their dynamic takes quite the change later on. Maria is perceptive and can detect lies thanks to her eyes of perception that can see and detect lies and truths.
Her dynamic with Kanami is very delicate and almost borderline insane when you factor in many things, like how Kanami is always reminded of his sister and always excludes her and keeps things even more so due to other things. Yet, through time, they get closer, and their dynamic becomes more than simply master and servant. The Next one up is Snow Walker
Kanami and Snow meet after the unfortunate events of the day of the blessed birth, and through many tragedies, Kanami finally encounters Snow Walker, who was previously hailed as the strongest, though that title was given to her brother. Snow Walker is a very weak-willed and lazy character whose trauma runs deep due to her standing as part of the Walker family and her encounter with Tida. She closes herself off and mostly just lazes around, not wanting to concern herself with anything until she runs into Kanami as she hears about his deeds concerning defeating the very guardian that terrorized many people in the past. Hailing Kanami as the strongest, Snow decided to use this as a chance to cling to him and marry him, as Kanami is, in her vision, a strong and capable dude who can and will do anything for her.
She wants to be spoiled by him and laze around as he does all the hard work for her, but as time goes on, that way of thinking changes, and Snow and Kanami change a lot, but Snow still stays the same. Regardless, Kanami, with some difficulty, manages to help and change her.
Part 4—Guardians and Dungeon Floors The Guardians and the dungeon floor they inhabit are their own domain and are filled with their own essence, as we have seen starting with fire, darkness, earth, wood, wind, and light.
The very concept of guardians is awfully similar to a final boss in an RPG game appearing right as a diver enters their floor that they inhabit; everything about the dungeon, down to the skill set, is very RPG-esque.
They were people who came from a thousand years ago around the dungeon and the church’s founding; they all have their very own regrets and lingering attachments that are the set piece to taking down a guardian, as is stated by Alty, the thief of fire’s essence.
Guardians are powerful and not to be underestimated, as they have caused problems everywhere in the world, including for Kanami and his gang. Despite it all, Kanami still tries to befriend them and solve their lingering regrets. Which Kanami just so happens to be the only one who can sympathize with them and help them in overcoming their regrets, ending their reign of the dungeon floor they inhabited.
Part 5—What Dungeon Dive is all about
At the end of the day, Dungeon Dive is all about trusting in others, opening your heart to them, and not mistaking what your true desire is.
It's a very heroic and tragic story, and yet, regardless of it all, the characters still push forward with their very own issues and problems. making mistakes that cause some heavy consequences and, through the help of others, overcoming all obstacles and odds against them in order to triumph and move forward It's very inspiring and amazing; hence, why I believe everyone should experience it.
